The Institute of Food Science of CNR (ISA-CNR) located in Avellino (Italy) hosts one Italian Living Lab planned in the TRANSDAIRY project. As a research unit of the National Research Council, the activities of ISA-CNR are focused on the study of food quality and safety, as well as on the relationship between food composition and health.
The ISA-CNR research group involved in the Living Lab is the Laboratory for Molecular Sensing headed by Dr. Sabato D’Auria. The main interest of the laboratory is the identification, characterization and production of biomolecules to use as specific probes for the design of advanced optical biosensors for food quality, food safety.
The Isa-CNR Living Lab objective will be the development of a nanobiotechnology-based service dedicated to enterprises, start-up and small private companies through the creation of a sustainable environment that allows to facilitate the adoption of innovative actions for supporting the dairy sector end-users from Campania Region.
In particular, the main activities for the living lab will be:
- To support the technological transfer of innovative analytical methodologies, such as optical biosensor for dairy chain organization and implementation.
- To support the implementation of new ideas and innovative nanotechnologies in the dairy chain field.
- To organize courses, events and webinars on biosensor design and application, etc.
- To support patent applications and the creation of spin-offs in dairy sector.
